Congrats to Ty Caden aka Tyronto on taking home $140,000.00 from the Virgin Gaming Tournament. Tournament size was 500+ so this was definately a tuff tourney, not ending untill after 3 a.m

“We all love playing ‘Madden,’ we’re all competitors, and when there’s that much money on the line, nobody is going to complain about how late you’re playing,” Glen said. “I got to the final 16 at about 10 p.m., and after that, it’s like a daze. I was just so focused, I completely lost track of time.”

As for Glen’s advice to gamers on how to be a better “Madden” player, he said it all begins with team selection.

“About 95 percent of people use the Packers,” he said. “Rodgers has a strong arm, and he’s accurate. And in ‘Madden,’ where one interception can cost you the game, you just can’t risk passing the ball with anyone else. In addition, they have the size and speed at receiver with Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley. The Packers are just so stacked on offense and defense. They’re an unfair team in my opinion.

“You just have to remember, when you’re on defense, the key is repetition. A lot of guys change up their defense all the time, but the problem with that is you’re not used to it. You need to pick a defense and run it the entire year. The best way to play defense is to make adjustments with hot routes, so if you’re running your defense, no matter what offense you’re facing, you’ll know where your players are supposed to be and you can then make adjustments from there. Then, when it comes to calling plays, just remember it’s better to blitz and make your opponent beat you than to sit back, giving them all the time in the world to catch the ball. If you want to win in ‘Madden,’ you need to put the pressure on your opponent.”

I use Seahawks and have been messing with it from ever 43 formation. I like to put clemons and konz at DT when i run this blitz. It has been really working great for me. I would say this is the most consistant inside pressure I have seen so far this year aside from manual blitzing.

Biggest weakness is runs to opposite side of slide line ie: if you slide line right they run left and you get torched. For that reason I dont use vs undercenter. I also like to move the MLB over left side tackle to balance. Honestly I prefer this flipped because then the biggest weakness is runs to right and those are easier for me to stop for some reason. Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson has won the fan-voted cover athlete tournament for Madden NFL 13 and now the question comes, will he break the Madden Curse? I think the community will agree that he not only deserves this honor but can also be such a monster in the NFL that no “curse” could effect him anyway.

Heres the latest Madden 13 related content which has videos showcasing tons of new M13 features. Im not sure what to think about the individual QB drop back annimations, it sounds like their designed for different routes like screens and C-routes but it sounds sweet. I just hope they take into consideration that the qb can easily get stuck in a dropback annimation resulting in a sack. Continue below for screenshots and vids and leave any comments.
